Angies List review - Angie's list siding with "criminals"?
Angie's list received a complaint about my company, and I filled out the "conflict resolution" paperwork "agreeing" to meet the members demands. -Angie's list was supposed to remove the review. -Angie's list did NOT remove the review, which violates their policy. The...

I posted another review on Angie's List that stems from this incident.

Angie's list is retaliating, and saying anything that I post online regarding this client of theirs, is Harassment!

I am HARASSING their customer by posting negative reviews on ANGIE'S LIST. I posted her on July 31, approximately 3 months later Angie's list started retaliating against me.

Pros
  • This is about angies list
Reason of review
Angies list is overstepping their authority, which would put lives at risk
Preferred solution
Angie's list might destroy my reputation and company over my "safety concern" that was validated by the city of Chicago. Angie's list should follow their policy and remove the negative review, and reimburse me for tort payment.

One of my customers purchased a big deal incorrectly. They called me and I informed them that it was not the correct product for them. Upon contacting Angie's List they were told a credit would not be issued and it was on the service provider to provide the service....

I have a good friend that had a similar experience. They use extortion to manipulate the lists and then have the nerve to say that "no one can pay to be on the list".

Stop your paid listings immediately and make a simple wordpress "blog' website with someone like hostgator. Find someone local to help if you need. Make sure to get your own domain name and set up emails that use that name so they are more consistent with your brand. Answer your emails promptly!

Update it a lot with good information and plenty of photos of his work. Go back to old customers and get your own reviews and post them on your own site or ask them to post to Google. I did that for my friend last year.

Soon enough the phone will be ringing again and you will get more business than he can handle. And you can keep the extra 70k.

I use to have an electical company in Central Texas. A client told me he had referred me to Angie's List. I didn't know what it was at the time. I got a call on a weekly basis from Angie's List explaining I had been referred to them by a customer. The catch was I had...

Rip-off artist electrician and Angies List wouldn't publish the review

We were doing a kitchen remodel that was 3 months behind schedule. The general contractors "electrician" turned out not to be licensed and imeprefused to have him back on my property (stripped insulation off wires in walls and didn't notice, major fire hazard should have fired general too but oh well). I was Ina bind and picked a company off Angies List which was highly rated. He knew he had me and demanded a retainer, promised to be back in 2 days and get retiring and total job done by the end of the week. He had excuse after excuse and I finally told him enough and hired a local guy who'd wired my hot tub and did a good job. Took longer but oh well. This *** who had done almost NONE of the promised work demanded to be paid for the entire job, until I had my attorney write him a nice letter and he stopped. I sent this entire report to Angies List and they never published it. I called several times, asking why and got " we're doing a software upgrade and we're having issues getting reviews published. So I did a rather meh neutral review of the guy, and guess what? Showed up that day. Turns out this cheat electrician had been on her List for 7 years and they weren't about to publish an actual, real, scathing review of this bully. I've had some good folks I found on AL, but they certainly are not honest. Trust the BBB. THEY published my negative review. He blew them off though when they asked him to make it right and give back most of the $1000 he extorted.

Angies List Review Review from Portland, Oregon

The articles in Angie's list are bent toward the businesses it lists. Reviews of products and services do not cite prices - even ball park, words like "if you are interested in a less expensive model" the facts are obscuscated by nice generalities. When facts are given, Angues list writers tend to not know what they are talking about. An on line article about sliding glass doors says to by "gliding doors" they are the exact same thing except one really expensive company calls them "gliding doors" a hoity touty pomposity for doors that open using tracks. Angie you have got to full of yourself. You forget that you are supposed to be fit the consumer not business.

Angies List review in Jackson, Missouri: Poor service and didn't recieve the refund I was promised.

Details
I was looking for a local dry cleaner and did a web search. Angie's list came up in the search and when I checked them out they said they had six reviews four negative and two positive. I of course had to sign up to see the details. After signing up and paying my fee their reviews suddenly change from six to just two and one of those was 1500 miles away from my zip code. I try canceling my membership but the agent I was talking to wouldn't do that even though I repeatedly request it. The best I could get was a promise that the automatic renewal feature would be disabled. However I continued to recieve emails saying that my account would automatically renew. I contacted them a second time and after a long argument finally got them to cancel my membership and refund my payment no mention of the 110% refund and in fact I still haven't seen the refund of my original fee. I feel that this site is nothing but a scam I was cheated and I have no confidence that they really canceled my membership I expect to have further difficulties with them their services and promises are worthless.

Angies List review in Dunedin, Florida: Will not record a company's fraud unless she gets paid!

Details
I live in Pinellas County, Florida. I tried to lodge a complaint against a company attempting to perpetrate fraud on homeowners, especially senior citizens and Angie's List would not record the complaint and attempted perpetration of a crime UNLESS I PAID FOR MEMBERSHIP!!!!!!! If anyone has to pay to report anyone trying to scam consumers, how can one trust that the contractors on her list are honest? If this doesn't work so I guess I will have to report this to local, county, State and Federal Law Enforcement. I do not know why you require us to write at least 100 words if one can make one’s input succinct.

Angies List review in Denver, Colorado: Poor customer service

We gave our membership 2 years and never really found the value in this "list". Many of the businesses we tried never returned phone calls or seemed all that interested in our projects - we did 2 remodels during this period. We had much better luck with referrals from friends and family. Called to cancel my membership and got passes around to no less than 4 different people, because of course they had to get me to the person who handles Denver. Really? Their database is divided like that? The last person, Josh, was very snippy, short and rude when I told him all I wanted to do was cancel my membership. Shouldn't take 15 minutes to cancel a membership and it shouldn't make you a target of rudeness.

Angies List review in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania: Angie's List allows false reviews to remain on their site

1.0
Details
Our business has a free listing on Angie's list because some of their members reviewed our company. We have had plenty of good reviews but recently one of their members posted a completely false and negative review of our company. They complained about a service that was done at their home when we have no record of being at this customer's home in the last 4 years. I replied to the review asking Angie's list to remove it and explained why. In short, their response was that because we've acknowledged he is one of our customers, they will not remove the review even though I provided them with all of the customer's history with our company to prove that it was a false claim. The funny thing is, this is happening after I have declined repeated solicitations from Angie's List to pay for advertising on their site. One has to wonder if this is just a bully tactic by Angie's List to try to force companies to pay them for advertising. Bottom line, do not believe what you see on Angie's List. Do not trust them and if you own a business, do not allow them to bully you into paying for advertising on their list.
