I have had a couple of experiences with Angies List and Home Advisor. They are a perfect fit for each other (Home Advisor bought Angies List). Both companies are relentless regarding sales of their product. Don't sign up with them unless you are prepared to be harassed.

Indicate on their site always speak to a live person. This is not true. Searched all over the net for contact hone number. There is only on phone number, which they do not answer. You get recording your subscription does not allow you to speak to a live person. Tried to chat, won't allow that either-get this is embarrassing error message. Don't remember my password, so requested reset. Still waiting for reply, but I won't hold my breath. Ready to contact consumer affairs for the state of Georgia. All I want to do is get them to stop billing me $100 a month.

Just so you know, if you do start an account with them, they will bill your card again and again after you cancel. This is the worst company that I have dealt with online.

Angie's List = Liars, Cheaters, & Thieves!!! Beware!!! i purchased Angie's List and canceled my "auto renew" feature on the same day back in 01/2016. 11 months later i get a bill for renewal. I used the chat feature on Angie's List website to cancel for a 2nd time with one of their agents. Angie's List confirmed my first cancellation was noted in their system and 2nd cancellation. 10 days later i get another bill for renewal..........i go to Angie's List to find that my account preferences are set to auto renew on 01/28/2018. i've had to cancel for a 3rd time. Please DO NOT purchase from Angie's List, they are just another corporate *** separating you from your money!

You didn't mention how you are paying them. If they are charging your credit card just tell the bank of the problem and they can close that card out and give you another one with different numbers, etc.

If they are taking money directly from your bank account because you either gave them your debit card info, same procedure goes. If you gave them your account info and they take it directly from your bank account, close the account and open another. If they send you a paper bill, then ignore it. If you paid them in advance, then you are out of luck.

Make sure, however that they don't automatically enroll you for another year and figure out what to do--see above---to stop them from taking money from you when the year ends. Good luck.

Far too many complaints about them. Caveat Emptor.

during a 60 second conversation; that time can be verified by VONAGE TELEPHONE SCVS, i agreed to renew my contract. amber then made several statements causing me to change my mind. she absolutely refused to let me reconsider during that 60 second conversation. amber then charged my credit card for over $400.00 ALERT 1 internet advertisement states you can cancel at ANY TIME. that statement a appears at least 2 times on their internet ad. i have asked ALERT 1 for a copy of the tape recording. i asked that they polygraph me and amber fink to resolve this situation. amber informed me that my device has't even been working. i have been counting on the device for years for personal safety. again i will be happy to take a polygraph to confirm my experience james stephen johnson
