Angies List review in San Diego, California: Confusion

I cannot believe the concept of this company. Angie certainly found a way to scam people. Who ever heard of a company that charges the customer for the review! The consequences are obvious! Do people actually fall for this??? There is no company that can offer a customer anything if the customer needs to pay for the reviews. The customer will be paying the vendor. Once I saw this, I backed out of signing up and of course was solicited after that. The other sites that charge the vendors to advertise are just fine. A pity that Angie is making money off of this. It looks like the poor customers who fell for this have learned the hard way. The only one who benefits from this is Angie.

Angies list is a refuge for people who need someone to tell them what to do.

In other words NITWITS!

I love their adds.. "We got a big dog that needed care and I don't think we could find what Fido needed without Angie's List".

Seriously, you could not find a vet and then find a pet groomer?

Angies List review in Valencia, California: Keep getting e-mails from Angie's List claiming I wrote a 'review' for them.

01/08/14 will be the second e-mail I've received from 'Angie's List' 'thanking' me for and claiming that I wrote a 'review' for their service; I am not a member of 'Angie's List' and have no desire to do so; not sure how they got my personal e-mail address, but worse, is claiming that I wrote some non-existent review for their organization (on what, exactly, I'd like to know). The first 'confirmation' of a review came to me about a month ago to which I inquired and asked what 'review' they were talking about; I got a response from 'Angie's List' indicating a review of a local service or something else that I posted on a completely different web site. So it seems, without authorization, any review that a person might post anywhere else is picked up by 'Angie's List' and somehow matched against your e-mail address and then made to look as if you posted just for 'Angie's' web tool. I have not dared to 'join' Angie's List to see where my name and review might have been used; for all I know, my 'review' is about something I know nothing about or had nothing to do with.

Angies List review in Walnut Creek, California: False Advertising

While researching a specific company, an Angie's list poped up and stated that I could get detailed reviews on that specific company once I joined. Upon joining, there was no information on that company. They would only apologize for the "confusion". They are just another internet scam. I was just misled into joining Angie's list. It apparently doesn't have reviews of any roofing contractors in my region.

I was searching for reviews of the roofer I was considering hiring; Angie's List came up as having reviews of the roofer.

I could get all these details only by joining, however after paying the membership fee I discovered there was absolutely NO information on the roofer in question. I was even more discouraged when I found only one roofer within 50 miles had been reviewed, and there was only one review of that business.

It happened to me too. They are scammers.

This literally just happened to me. We're looking for reviews on a certain roofer, and it Angie's List popped up with the company profile I was looking for so I signed up.

As soon as I signed up, I searched the company to find nothing. This is a scam flat out.

Angies List review in Solana Beach, California: Ad of the man who "loves" Angie, disses his wife

Angie's segment of the dorky man who says he "Loves Angie," is rather sexist. The man says "I love you, Angie," then looks at his girlfriend or wife off camera and says, "Sorry, Honey." That's tasteless and CHILDISH. Angie's segment of the dorky man who says he "Loves Angie," is rather sexist. Angies List review in Los Angeles, California: Poor list hardly any companies on it

It seems like a total scan...considering how long it has been around and all the advertising it does....and it has such a tiny list for most contractor categories AND most of the ones listed have ONLY ONE REVIEW!!!! which means only ONE customer is giving you information about the listed contractor. And then of course the very nature of web recommendations is impossible to verify....so it could by anyone (company owners even) writing something positive OR negative about a competitor. Seems like a good idea---but there needs to be some way to validate a "review" It seems like a total scan...considering how long it has been around and all the advertising it does....and it has such a tiny list for most contractor categories AND most of the ones listed have ONLY ONE REVIEW!!!! which means only ONE customer is giving you information about the listed contractor. I allowed the existing credit card expiration date that Angies List had on file to expire because I did not want to renew the account. Some how Angies List found out that I have an account with Pay-Pal. They gained access to my account and set up a re-occurring...

Angies List review in Irvine, California: Angis list is a HORRIBLE COMPANY

They try to come across as one of the most trustworthy and honest. First of all it is not easy to find service providers close to where I live. I might get a lead but in the 40-50 Miles radius. I can do better than that. If you want to cancel the service the real pleasure will come to your way. No e-mail option for cancellation fax or phone only... After 25 minutes waiting on the phone I gave up and called my credit card company to get rid of their charge. By the way I have already canceled the service less than a month after I signed up for it.. Horrible...Waste of time......

You gave it less then a month? Not too bright.

Any advertising takes time to show results, anyone knows that. cancelling charges or reversing charges on a written contract is a breach of contract by you. Expect to be challenged in court on the breached contract.

Again, another deadbeat contractor unwilling to honor a contract or pay his bills. Real shocker there huh?

Angies List Rip OFF - Zip Code Search

I live in southern california and i own properties (landloard) of some condos in Las Vegas. I needed a appliance repair company in Las Vegas. I signed up and paid the year subscription fee. At no time was there a disclousure that the only listings i was going to have access to was Los Angeles. When i wanted to get the las vegas listings it prompted me to pay another 20.00. what a ripoff. there is no disclousre that your stuck with the location you signed up as your primary address. I would be down to be a plaintiff in a class action lawsuit.

Angies List review in Los Angeles, California: Misrepresented the advertizing service. deifite rip off

it is to many details to write here, just know that they are unscrupulos and a definite ripoff company. they verbally promised that there service would generate lots of business (generated absolutely no business) and it didnt come close to other internet companys (at 1/3 the price) who you dont make you have to sign a 1 year contract with either. once in they have their claws into you and will not let go. i would NEVER use the service to advertize or to find a company, EVER. and i am currently taking them to small claims court for the shady practices
