Angies List review in Van Nuys, California: BEWARE - Angie's List removes negative reviews
I hired a "highly rated" plumbing company via Yelp, who did not appear to be listed on Angie's List. Said plumbing company had to be called out 3 times, to perform what should have been a relatively simple toilet repair, due to poor workmanship. Upon the third visit, I requested a refund to which they agreed. After not receiving said refund for a few weeks, I contacted Angie's List to see if I could submit a detailed review of this unreliable company - to protect/inform/advise other consumers, to which Angie's List agreed. It was only then that I discovered there had, in fact, been two prior F-grade reviews of said plumbing company which were buried somewhere and inaccessible on the Angie's List search engine. Had I known, I NEVER would have hired this company in the first place !! After completing the negative review, Angie's List inquired if I wanted their assistance to help obtain the promised refund, to which I agreed as it seemed easier than going to Small Claims Court. Dealing with the Angie's List "Resolution" department began a new nightmare experience of poor customer service as my calls were never returned in a timely manner and the "supervisor" I spoke with (nice as he was), was unable to answer most of my questions. Today, Angie's List informed me that my case has been closed as successfully settled since said plumbing company promised to send me a refund. Did I mention that the plumbing company has been promising me a refund for over 6 weeks now? To date, a refund check has yet to arrive. Angie's List then removed my negative listing of said plumbing company and invited me to submit a new review giving the company an A or B-grade rating. REALLY ??? !!! Why in the world would I want to give this plumbing company, who had to return three times for a relatively minor toilet repair, for which I then needed to hire a "real" plumber, a positive review? I would have been more than happy to update my negative review with status of said resolution (which has not yet occurred), but to completely remove details of my actual experience and expect me to give a glowing positive review of such an unprofessional company is outrageous! I no longer trust Angie's List to provide unbiased consumer reviews and neither should you. Just saying ...
