The same thing happened to me. I finally had to cancel the account that they had on file. This is the worst rip-off company that I have dealt with.

I find angies list to be absolutely useless. Search engine does not work. Results are unrelated to what I search for and are very frustrating. I am canceling my membership immmediatly and I would tell anybody thinking of signing up to rethink their decision. Total...

I had to cancel today for the same reason and obtained a full refund. I've been a member for many years but the site is not functional for now.

Seems their migration to a new server caused major problems that have no date of resolution. They say it will be fixed "sometimes this summer, by August." No good.

Don't even think the words Angie's List unless you enjoy being inundated with emails. And absolutely don't join. They don't have what you are looking for and you will be getting emails for the rest of your life and perhaps beyond no matter how many times you spam and unsubscribe.

Angies List in Denver, Colorado - Poor customer service

We gave our membership 2 years and never really found the value in this "list". Many of the businesses we tried never returned phone calls or seemed all that interested in our projects - we did 2 remodels during this period. We had much better luck with referrals from friends and family. Called to cancel my membership and got passes around to no less than 4 different people, because of course they had to get me to the person who handles Denver. Really? Their database is divided like that? The last person, Josh, was very snippy, short and rude when I told him all I wanted to do was cancel my membership. Shouldn't take 15 minutes to cancel a membership and it shouldn't make you a target of rudeness.

Angies List in Broomfield, Colorado - Cancellation

I too am having problems cancelling Angie's list. I filed a complaint with my bank and they reversed the charge but said if it came up again, it would go through. I am now in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB to put them on notice. The heating company that I contracted with because they had excellent reviews on Angie's list charged more than they quoted and turned out to a horrible company. Can someone tell me how in the heck I get this cancelled? What really irks me is I had signed up for a ONE month membership and never agreed to monthly.

Angies List in Boulder, Colorado - Angie's List Billing Practices

Angie's list did two things. First, they added two services, classic car and health, to my account even thought I didn't ask for them. Second, they raised my price from $7.50/mth in September 2011 to $8.76/mth in October 2011 to $10.94/mth in November 2011. That's almost 46% in two months, with ABSOLUTELY NO WARNING OR EMAIL ANNOUNCEMENT. When I called and asked if the price had been raised or if this was a mistake, she told me that "yes, your charge is fluctuating". I said, flat out, answer yes or no...did the the price get raised. She said no. I asked why were the charges higher, and she said "i'm not going to be bullied into giving you the answer you want". At that point I asked for a supervisor. Supervisor was better. She said yes, they raised the price, but she would credit my card for the difference and keep it at $7.50. I asked her about the two services I didn't order, and the explanation was that when I signed up they were included, but they are now "unbundled" and now charged extra. I asked her to cancel those, and the price further reduced to less than $6. Again, none of this was communicated in the emails I get daily from Angie's List. Very consumer-unfriendly billing practices, almost verging on the deceptive. Ironic to say the least.
