I joined four years ago when I bought a new house in a new area. Didn't find anyone reliable so I canceled. I don't like auto renewal so I always make sure to turn that off

Year 1: They auto renewed anyway. I called, they refunded

Year 2: They auto renewed AGAIN. I called, they said it was my fault. I got my CC company involved and they finally backed down. I requested strongly that my information be deleted. They said sure and this would not happen again

YEAR 3: They tried to charge me twice (every three months). I called an get a machine that says my "membership does not include customer service" So I can 1) PAY TO TALK TO SOMEONE or 2) fill out an online form. Filled out form and got no responce

I had to get my CC company put a block on them in order to try and make it stop.

Product or Service Mentioned: Angies List Membership.

Reason of review: Return, Exchange or Cancellation Policy.

Monetary Loss: $20.

Angies List Cons: Billing process and auto-renewal scam process.

The same happened to me. 2 years ago I got an email stating that my membership had expired.

I was offered in the same email $9.99 to continue. I never responded. Unbeknownst to me a second email followed a month later (I just found this email by doing a search) in it they say that I will be seamlessly transitioned from month to month to an annual membership because the membership I had been on will be discontinued (remember the previous email said my membership was expired?).

The new membership, which I never agreed to, comes with all new conditions of automatic renewals etc. they’ve been unauthorized charching my credit card for two years.
