Angies list does not follow up on negative reviews.

Anyone who joins or not can give a review of a company. Bad experience when a client (who by the way signed up off on a contract job stating how great everything looked) wrote a bad review when it came time to pay our company for the completed services. Contacted Angie's List discussed that our company could prove reviewer had signed off on completed project and started how great it looked. They would not entertain looking at documents or reversing review. Shame on Angie's List they have a responsibility to look at damaging reviews and make sure their members are informed correctly

Angies List review in Port Charlotte, Florida: Waste of money

I paid to join Angies List to put a bad experience on a moving company we used. 4 months later my review was gone. I didn't know the companies could pay to have it removed. What good is that? Moving company took $4000. deposit but never showed up to move the furniture. No refunds, they had no idea where the truck driver was or when they would be able to reach him. The company was nationwide. Then angies list charged my credit card for renewal. I had to fight that. What good is the reviews if they delete the bad reviews? Anyone (even the company the review is about can place a good review.

Angies List - Customer Care Review

They are definitely corrupt and a scam! They called me as soon as I got a bad review which was from someone that had never been a customer of mine. They don't verify if people have actually used the service or not. They try to get you to buy good reviews from them to push down the bad review. I hope there is a class action against this piece of *** company I will definitely join in!

Very Deceptive practices!

I was new to Odessa, TX and trying to find a physician. While researching, Angie's List ads kept popping up saying "Read reviews of Dr.

So and So on Angie's List". I finally decided to sign up. After I did, the specific doctors listed in her google ads were not listed at all on her site. I consider that false advertising.

Since I had signed up for a year, I decided to use for other services. I found very little and thought that it was just the Midland/Odessa area. But I spoke with my sister who lives in the Dallas area and she said she found very few listings for handyman type services so she cancelled. That's pretty bad if the Dallas metroplex is lacking.

I hired a web designer based on glowing reviews on Angies List.

She was horrible. I thought the people that gave her good reviews must have been very easy to please. Now I am reading about negative reviews being removed from businesses that pay for a better listing. I stopped even trying to use Angie's list anymore.

After a year, I saw that they pulled an annual enrollment fee from my PayPal account.

I was not aware that I was set up on autopay.

I sure wouldn't want my personal name and face associated with such deceptive practices. I can't believe she has the nerve to advertise on national TV!

Angies list is an advertising medium mistaken by many as a consumer aid

I joined Angie's List anticipating a Consumer Reports type organization (they accept no paid ads) evaluating services more than products....now suspect it is more of an advertising medium as a paid advertisers' benefit appears to be the deletion of critical member comments. I am now retired having practiced private and hospital dentistry over 40 years and find their selection of health care professionals more promotional than professional. To me health care is more than just a business, it is a vocation. Any professional who does not accept at least a Small number of Medicaid patients (less$) in their practice , physicians who refuse All Medicare patients or dentists who claiming to be cosmetic dentists do not offer the option of far more durable less costly ( less profitable and less nerve toxic) metallic fillings should be at least be professionally reviewed. They seem to have a low standard for paid ad acceptance. I have previously inquired as to their ad screening standards on two occasions without a reply. Edmund F. Walsak D.D.S.

Angies List review in Hudson, Florida: Bogus reviews?

I was looking for someone to repair my television, so I decided to check on Angies List. After looking at the reviews of several repairmen, I selected one that had more than twenty positive reviews. Many of the reviews stated that the company was very professional, that they wore "booties" when they came in your house, that they cleaned any messes up, and that their product was good. So, I made an appointment with the company. First off, the guy called twice the day he was suppose to show up saying that he was going to be late and then even later. When he finally did show up, he looked like he drove his own personal car, he was taking parts and tools out of his trunk, and he was dressed in every day clothing. He didn't wear any "booties", and he left a mess after he left. He also never left and invoice (it was for a rental unit, needed the invoice for taxes), so I had to request that. It came in the mail several weeks later, and completely handwritten, as was the envelope. To top it off, he also upsold me on a "better", more expensive lamp for my TV ($300+) saying it had a longer warranty and would last much longer. However, the lamp didn't even last six months, and several calls to him have not been returned (the lamp is still under warranty). After doing some research, I have found that business owners can pay to have reviews put on Angies List or even pay for employees, friends and/or family members to have accounts on AL just to write good reviews. Angies List doesn't care who writes the reviews just as long as they get their monthly payment for each account and just as long as they are getting money from said businesses for advertising. I cancelled my Anglies List account shortly after this and will never pay to be on that site again. I have also told my story to many friends that use AL, and they have cancelled their accounts as well.

Angies List review in Margate, Florida: Upselling on Angie's List

I signed up for Angie's List to get some info about service providers in my area. Included in the initial promo material was the statement that you get unbiased reviews on service providers, INCLUDING PHYSICIANS AND DENTISTS. I've used the list for roofing repair and gutter repair recommendations and was pleased by the info I got. However, when I tried to get recommendations about physicians, the site told me i would have to spend an additional $21 to get the physician list. Nowhere in the original info was there any reference to additional charges for lists such as physicians. I e-mailed them yesterday to complain but got an auto-generated message that they are very busy and will get back to me at some unspecified date.
