Angies List review in Indianapolis, Indiana: Plumbing nightmare

100 words is a shortcoming to a list of fraud lies cover up etc received and submitted to to public by Angie's list I had plumbing problem and purchased a deal offered by ag list for two hrs at $99. After six months of a run around double talking by reps. From Angie list I was very angry. The plumber who I finally reached said he won't do work as advertised and said ag takes his money.... I ask for another plumber ag said I would need to pay more money then said couldn't find plumber in my area of alb ny. I never received full credit for work that was never done.. It seems to me I might open a similar business with same guidelines and make millions from those people like myself . Sounds good but aim an honest person nt a swindler Like Angie who should be criminally prosecuted and ordered to pay damages including emotional damages. I certainly would join those interested in putting a out of business....Bryan Albert Alb. Ny

Terrible place that treats their employee's very badly. Not only do they do a poor job they use inferior products. The treatment of their employee's is what upset me the most. I do believe that a company is only as good as the way they treat their workers. They...

Angies List review in Indianapolis, Indiana: Pricing Scam for Members

4.0
Details
Be Warned! If you are paying more then 30$ a year your paying too much! I have been a member for years paying 70$ each year. Now they have the same exact subscription for just 30$. Once I found this out I tried calling to adjust to this price, cause I don't really need to have this service, but if I'm keeping it I want the cheapest price. The call is what really made me angry. The rep didn't even offer the new prices until I started getting upset and basically told me that THEY WILL NOT OFFER IT TO YOU FIRST! YOU HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT IT!? What kind of scam are they running that existing customers have to know about the price changes in order to benefit but anyone new gets the cheaper offer? Talk about rewarding customer loyalty. I got all my money back, but this is what the rep ended up telling me... Local Home or just the Health list was 10$. They made sure to keep reinforcing that its "online only", but I wouldn't want to sit through another terrible phone conversation with them again. Both lists was only 30$ and was "nationwide" which just meant the extra $20 I was paying for another area was useless now too... You have to inform yourself or you will pay, literally.

Angies List review in Indianapolis, Indiana: Angie's List refunds a billing error with an INVALID CHECK for $29

My Angie's List membership expired last year(2013) and I chose not to renew it. However, I noticed two $29 charges on my credit card for renewals. I received refunds for both charges, and was told they had no idea why I was continuing to be charged. In April of this year(2014) I noticed two additional $29 charges on my credit card for renewals. After contacting Angie's List again, I received one refund for $29. When I asked about the 2nd refund they said it had also been sent to my credit card. However, my credit card company had no record of receiving the second credit. After several discussions, Angie's List offered to send me a refund check for $29. I received the check but when I attempted to cash it I was told the check was INVALID!! If anyone has cancelled their membership or has a current one, check your credit card statements for bogus charges from Angie's List. I was charged (4) additional times after I cancelled mine, and if I hadn't looked closely at my bill they would have received that money.

Angies List review in Indianapolis, Indiana: Groupon Client is secret Angie's List personnel

I sold groupons for my massage business. This client called and text repeatedly to get and appointment. I got her in as soon as I could. I am always booked a month in advance anyway without a groupon deal. I did not sell very many deals. She continued to make several appointments. I told her I would put her on a cancellation list. A cancellation didn't become available. She Never came to one scheduled appointment and cancelled all of them. Don't hear from her for over a month. The last day her deal was going to expire she calls and I explain to her there will be a 35.00(really it should have been $46.00. On a earlier text I thought she said she had purchased an hour and I originally told her $25.00. She starts questioning my" "She doesn't like my professionalism" you ready for this? " I work for Angie's list and I'm very familiar with how these ecommerce deals work. "I'm very unhappy that it has taken this long to try to schedule regardless of canceling. Please issue a refund" I informed her she purchased through groupon and she would need to call them to receive her refund. I also told her I'm sorry you feel this way but I have tried my best to accommodate you on several occasions. I also let her know I would be sharing text with Angie's list customer support. She continues to text for 2 days. She apologized and so then I apologized for wrong pricing. I told her just get in here and get the massage. She continues, "People I know referred me to you" "I would not feel comfortable getting a massage now that you called my boss" Groupon gave her a refund. She also let me know as a consumer she can write a review on my business. Angie's customer support says she can write a report as a consumer. I believe Angie's list is purchasing groupons and trying to drive business owners to bad reviews. I have lost time and money with my business fooling with this person that had no intentions of ever receiving a massage. I also know that other therapist in my building that do advertise with Angie's list. Something is not right here.

Angies List review in Indianapolis, Indiana: Managing Member

Business advertising that was ineffective, inaccurately described at best and actually more along the lines of deceptive, and then a major nightmare to resolve, including non-cooperative employees and strong are tactics from so-called Sales Executives. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS ADVERTISING WITH ANGIE'S LIST unless you wish to waste your money and continue the scam. The lack of ability or willingness to work with another business, in a good faith way, from a business that claims to be an advocate for the customer is very frustrating at best, and truly is deceptive. If they do this behind the scenes for businesses, I can only imagine the other negative approaches they take for their "other" customers. DISGUSTED
