I was once a satisfied user and signed up again day before yesterday. After struggling with the new system for a day I've been unable to get any useful information. You used to be able to search for service people at distances moving out from your location. Now I...

We were a part if Angies list until they started stimulating us constantly for more money. Our company takes pride in our work, and we try to please everyone. That sometimes is not possible at any concession. Saying that, Angles list would come back to us repeatedly...

Angies List review in Houston, Texas: 3rd time not a charm
Foundation repair, worse than before fixed, huge gaps by windows, they said they would be carefully with plants, they ripped them up and payed on driveway. Rewireing, the company hired people standing in front of Home Depot. The owner didn't do any work, his subcontractor was licensed, but told us where he got his helpers. Holes and gouges in walls and woodwork, asked them to put an extra plug in the breakfast room, they put a plug in, but disconnected the other plug. When they put in fire alarms, they cut two holes in a couple of rooms and left the spare hole open. Left pencil marks and saw cuts all around the plug and switch areas. Just called washer repair to come back out 4th time in two weeks. Paid 79.00 for service call and 320.00 parts and labor. They said needed new pump. Still get the F06 signal and it stops draining. Now the 45 minute load takes two hours and the clothes are still dripping wet.

Recently I had looked for a locksmith to unlock an interior door at our home. I found a local locksmith that was listed on Angie's List and the service was not only horrible but dishonest and rude. I am not an Angie's List member but when I did the google search for...

Angies List review in Houston, Texas: Advertises for a Company that has no License!
I looked up the manufacturer of my gas grill. "Solaire" Put in my zip code and called the company on there list of approved dealers. Had someone from Gas Grill and Light in Houston come to give me a bid for repair and cleaning. Gave him a $800.00 check for parts and then he quit answering my phone calls etc! I noticed when googling and researching that he was also recommended on Angies List. I emailed them and explained that after further research Gas Grill and Light had not paid there taxes and didn't even have a valid business license! I had been ripped off and they had no plans of bringing my parts! Angies list said that even knowing this information they could not make a report on this company file! They said you have to be a member to change someones rating....did I want to join? I laughed and said why would I pay for a membership that is promoting a company that has ripped me off and they know it but will still give them a good report???? How crazy would that be? Long story short we approached the Distributor and said that they need to take some ownership in who they list as AUTHORIZED dealers! They must have put the screws to the guy because after 2 MONTHs and many emails he brought our parts!!!! Gas GRILL and Light 1760 BLALOCK RD HOUSTON TEXAS 77080!!! Don't give them money in advance......or consider it a DONATION! ANGIE'S LIST - WASTE OF TIME!!! They still have them down as a good company they refer???? Know they aren't!

Agreed! My experience with several "A" rated businesses on Angie's List have been far from good. I think Angie's List has become more interested in collecting revenues than providing consumers with an honest and accurate rating system of contractors.
